QUT offers a wide range of scholarships, bursaries and prizes fpr students enrolled in undergraduate degrees across the disciplines Law, Business, Built Environment and Engineering, Health, Education, Creative Industries, Information Technology and Science. There are currently three main levels of external support for undergraduate students: Scholarship Undergraduate scholarships alleviate the financial pressure of tertiary education for students undertaking bachelor degrees and cover Student Contribution Fees (formerly HECS) as a minimum. Scholarships can be awarded to students in any year of study and range in duration from one to four years support (double degrees e.g. business/engineering extend to five years). Scholarship recipients are normally selected based on a written application and interview involving both QUT and the donor. The University suggests a minimum scholarship value for undergraduate students ranging from $6,000 to $10,000 per year based on the Student Contribution Fees of the discipline undertaken. Bursary A Bursary is a study stipend and may be awarded based on academic achievement or other selection criteria agreed to by QUT and the donor. Bursary recipients are normally selected by QUT based on a written application only. The University currently suggests a minimum bursary value for undergraduate students of $2,000.
Prizes recognise and reward excellence and are usually in the form of a cheque, equipment, book voucher or subscription to a professional organisation. Prize recipients are selected by QUT based on the agreed selection criteria. The University currently suggests a minimum prize value for undergraduate students of $500.
