QUT welcomes long-term industry and community collaboration through the sponsorship of academic positions. These positions are usually at the level of full professor and provide a critical research focus in an area of common interest to the sponsor and the University.

Funding for these positions normally extends to the salary of the academic and an agreed budget for research to ensure significant research outcomes for both the sponsor and QUT.

Sponsoring organisations or individuals must agree to meet costs of appointments, including all salary and staffing costs associated with reduced teaching loads for appointees and other identified costs of necessary resources.

  • Chair in Aged Chair Nursing - (Kedron-Wavell Services Club and The Prince Charles Hospital)
  • Chair in Clinical Nursing - (Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Royal Women's Hospital and Health Service Districts)

  • Chair in Transport Efficiency - (Department of Main Roads, Queensland Transport and UQ)
