QUT Alumni Appeals
QUT is committed to addressing the changing needs of society and, from time to time, may identify major new initiatives as priorities of the University. The Alumni Appeal has been identified as an area of top priority for the University. By donating to one of QUT'S appeal areas, you will be helping QUT to continue to support deserving students, ground-breaking research and worthwhile community projects. The Alumni Appeal is seeking donations to the following funds:
The QUT Learning Potential FundQUT established the QUT Learning Potential Fund to provide a permanent, stable source of income for bursaries for low-income dedicated students. Our immediate priority is to provide outstanding electronic resources to QUT's students and researchers. Gifts to the QUT Library Development Fund will be directed to subscriptions for Science and Nature online. These two journals were selected for their use by many students from a range of disciplines. http://www.library.qut.edu.au/about/giving.jsp The Remote Practicum Bursary Fund - supporting student teachers and Remote Field Experience.QUT supports student teachers taking their Teaching Field Experience in rural and remote Queensland . Many students are reluctant to participate in this experience because of the financial burden incurred in travelling to places like Birdsville and Thursday Island. A small bursary of $250 can make all the difference to these students. Students like Krystyna Artimiew know the benefits of taking on that challenge.
The QUT Endowment FundThe QUT Endowment Fund (for University Priorities) enables the University to meet urgent demands, from donations for general or unrestricted purposes. The Endowment is a permanent invested fund to support University priorities. These kinds of donations give QUT income and capital from which to meet urgent demands. Examples of the purposes which the QUT Endowment Fund ( for University Priorities) include: allocating funds to students' scholarship schemes, purchasing equipment for lecture theatres and classrooms, upgrading equipment and technology, plus refurbishing buildings and other campus facilities.
